As many of you know I have been on maternity leave from Label Brand the last month and a half. The act of having my child, Nico was amazing and afterward I wrote it as a record of how he came in to the world. Our friend over at Design Mom has been posting Birth Stories over the past year and today our story was posted. And now our very first step in to product design – Cookmarks. Cookmarks are silicon topped bookmarks designed especially for use in the kitchen. They are extra large on top so they easily open pages, avoiding messy fingerprints on your favorite cookbook, are color coded for situations when you have more than one recipe going at once and they are easy to wipe down after use.

Cookmarks are a Label Brand and Trident Design LLC joint venture. And they were just featured in the July issue of Clean Eating! Super excited about it! And you can purchase you’re very own set for some favorite home chef at this link.

I wanted to share this fotobooth where little colored papers were folded to create a backdrop and where guests wrote a wish for the Birthday Boy. And sometimes that’s all it takes; a well placed fotobooth will get em every time.

A first installment below. Her and her husband (hi Abraham) are traveling around the world for a year with no particular agenda except for having the adventure of their lives. Well let’s see… what have we been up to? Projects and more projects! I got to shoot some candids for Zen Genius at their latest Charles Penzone party. Amazing as usual. We tip our hat to the Zen Geniuses. You can see a couple of my favorite shots of the hair models getting ready below and more here.

I am also showing a shot that I took while working on a couple fliers for another Creative in our midst: Esther of Torn Angel. We just just finished up working on some promotions for her new Short North classes, she has some fun ones! You can see our final designs up on the Label Brand business site.

finally… it’s springtime!

Did everyone have a wonderful first day of Spring? I spent the afternoon playing putt-putt with some friends, then eating tacos in the sun, topped off by a few hours in the backyard cleaning up the last of Winter (I hope). I am so anxious to get the garden going again!!!

For those of you who don’t know, now you will: tomatoes are my very favorite. This weather makes me dream in tomato. Check out my tomato porn from 2009 below.

They intend to spend a lot of this year exploring, photographing and volunteering. If we’re lucky Josephine will share some of her shots as she tours the world. Cocktail Christmas was the kind of party where a friends could chase away the Winter blues. Some guests heated things up on the dance floor, while others got toasted, (like chestnuts) on a couple signature drinks: the Yule Mule and the White Christmas.

Here are a few key shots from the Fotobooth we set up at the Clayton wedding. The backdrop was created with vintage wallpaper we picked up, a perfect shade of the wedding blue, and a graphic plaque of their wedding symbol (that was on the invites and stamps. See more at Afterhours), a couple wrought iron stools and some fun props. Voila!
